Matt Angus
Putting his bid for the United States Congress seat in District 7, NJ, behind him, Matt Angus is ready to start playing his guitar again. “I enjoyed the campaign, especially meeting and talking with people within the district and seeing how their views may be similar or different than mine. I certainly wish that people were not as discontent as they vocalized, but at the same time it was quite comforting to find that I was not alone, that I was not the only one that felt that way." Angus finished with 1% of the vote and actually participated in the District’s only debate.
The new album is Matt’s first solo release and is simply titled “Matt Angus”. The record includes some of the best session players in the world including: Larry Campbell, Tony Garnier, Tom Nelson, Kim Williams, Jeff Sarli, Pat O’Shea, John Ginty and Tamika McClellan. Although the album will not be released until April, Gannett newpapers NJ had the record as a top-ten pick for 2005 citing,“Angus…may have assembled one of the best bands recorded in 2005”.

Political Pop
Take the roots of The Band, the energy of The Allman Brothers, mix in a bit of Johnny Cash for integrity's sake, sprinkle in the soul of The Staple Singers, and you've got the Matt Angus Thing, a dynamite rock 'n' roll act that makes fans the old-fashioned way. They earn them.
Led by a respected scene maker within New Jersey's prolific music community, Matt Angus Thing has been slugging it out on the road for two years, building a grass-roots following of loyal fans from the hallowed rock halls of Boston to the fertile American music ground of New Orleans. All along the way, M.A.T.'s rich roots rock has worked like wind to a sail.
With a full-length debut just completed, Matt Angus - also bassist Randy Artiglere, guitarist Chris Hedges and drummers Tom Nelson and Dave Becker - all of whom rate among the most sought-after players in the New Jersey music scene - will continue to tour frequently while expanding its fan base.

Sway
What makes a performer special? The ability to empathize through a well-turned lyric, the talent for writing an effective hook, a connection with an audience projected from the stage, and a sense of purpose and passion in an artists' music are all qualities possessed by those who are able to make the transition from musician to performer.
New Jersey's Kathy Phillips has shown that possessing all of these qualities is endearing to fans and critics alike. Her debut album, Sway (Black Potatoe Records), released in late 2001, was recognized by The Courier News with nods for Best Female Artist and Best Song for her smooth, polished sound, a graceful connection between pop, rock and folk.
